- By 3 months: 1) Your baby will begin to babble. He/she likes to make cooing sounds;
2) Your baby will be able to turn head toward the sound source;
3) It becomes easier for you to identify his/her sounds (cries) to figure out whether he/she is hungry, wet, tired, etc.
- By 6 months: 1) Your baby will learn more facial expressions. He/she will learn to use voice to express joy and displeasure;
2) Your baby will begin to use more vowel sounds;
3) Your baby will start "squealing" as he/she learns to make high pitched and low pitched sounds.
- By 12 months: 1) Your baby will respond to "No". When you say "No", he/she will stop and look at you;
2) Your baby may be able to say "papa" and "mama";
3) Your baby will begin to recognize familiar words. For example, "Bye-Bye";
4) Your baby will be able to respond to his/her name.
